Sunday,
August 10th,
2003. "5th Annual Art On The Porch Event".
Indications are that there were 42 artists/artisans attending this
year's event on a windy but sunny Peaks Island day (the rain held off
til closing). A wonderful, wide range of fine arts and crafts were
displayed, and most reports say everyone did quite well.

Several of this year's artists of note included Martha Daligan
selling her woven hammocks. Also highlights were an assortment of
prints and paintings by Marie Galland-Dodin, pictures of angels from
photographer Doug Emerson, nice jewelry from Ceilia Stricker and Peggy
Woodside. Jen O'Toole had some special paintings of tide pools
inspired by Peaks' backshore.

Show attendees also enjoyed products of Rick Boyd's kiln, Carolyn
Parker's candles that burn for months, and colorful paintings and photos
from Barbara Noonan of veggies and flowers. Rhonda Berg sold jewelry of
blown-glass beads that really caught the afternoon sun. And, we'd
be remiss if we failed to mention the tasty hamburgers and dogs prepared
by the vendors of the 5th Maine Board. Next year we'll also
include the dining room as a place for artists to show their
goods....so start creating now...!
