2004. "Pioneer Families Association Reunion".
Over 100 members of the Pioneer Families Association from across the United
States gathered at the Fifth Maine for their biannual reunion on Sunday July 18th.

The PFA is composed of folks whose families settled Peaks Island and the
Portland Harbor area - the Cleeve, Mitton, Brackett, Trott, Sterling,
Trefethen, Skillings, Ackley, Preble, Reed, and related families. Attendees
enjoyed a lobster dinner, shared a variety of genealogical and historical
materials from thier family collections, and caught up on family news.

The PFA has been most supportive of the fifth Maine's efforts to presere
Peaks Island history and was instrumental in the development of the Pioneer
Room, an exhibit gallery dedicated to the early history of Peaks Island and
Portland Harbor. The next PFA reunion is scheduled for July 2006 at the Fifth Maine.
