2007 Season's Events

October 2007
          "New Dining Room Windows"

As anyone who lives "by the sea" understands, maintenance of old wooden buildings is an ongoing project. The 120 year old Fifth Maine Regiment Memorial Hall is no exception.

Building Committee chairman Mick Hocker inspects the exterior wall.

During the fall of 2007 all of the deteriorated single-pane windows in the dining room and kitchen were replaced with top quality double glazed windows by our intrepid contractor Dong Nguyen. Since the old windows had been leaking, some of the window framing and interior drywall had to be replaced as well.

Dong prepares the exterior wall prior to installing a window.

The exterior was was then re-shingled and the interior ceilings, trim and walls repainted. It is such a pleasure to no longer feel the wind coming through those old drafty windows!
