Civil War Day at the Fifth Maine
Celebrate the return of the Fifth Maine Regiment’s 1861 battleflag with an afternoon of Civil War demonstrations, presentations and the opening of a new exhibit.

P R Hersey - Book Signing

Ms. Hersey has just published her third book, Company Men, a murder mystery that pits the medical profession against the insurance industry on one hand and government sanctioned legislation on the other. This fast-paced novel is set in Portland and Casco Bay. P R Hersey is a Portland native and life-long resident of Peaks Island.

Vintage Cottages is the theme of this year's house tour. After visiting several interesting cottages, participants may enjoy refreshments served on the Fifth Maine's porch and delight in the restoration of our seaside garden.

Tour of Fort Preble and Portland Harbor Museum's 2006 Exhibit. Harbor Forts: A Look behind the Walls

 From colonial times thru 1950 Fort Preble in South Portland guarded the entrance to Portland Harbor. Museum staff will take us on a guided tour of the fort and the 2006 exhibit which is housed in the fort's ordinance building. A box lunch will follow the tour.
