Be a Friend of the Fifth!

Membership

Why membership? Being a member or friend of the Fifth Maine Museum is a meaningful way of saying, “This is an organization I believe in and want to support.” It’s like an annual subscription, with annual benefits such as museum admission, newsletters and discounts. It also gives you a voice—you are invited to participate and vote at our annual meeting.

Most importantly, membership provides essential, reliable funding for the museum. It helps cover every day operating costs such as utilities, insurance, Wi-Fi, and grounds care. Simply put, without the support of our members, we could not keep our doors open.

Annual Fund Gifts

Why an Annual Fund Gift? Membership, admissions, and events provide important support—but they are not enough to sustain the museum or allow us to better serve our community. Annual fund gifts help close that gap and make our work possible. If you believe in the mission of the Fifth Maine Museum: History, Legacy, Community please consider a generous gift.

In addition to everyday operating costs, the museum faces ongoing and exceptional expenses that arise year after year. Our historic seaside building is constantly exposed to the elements and requires regular repair and maintenance—windows, siding, decks, and continual painting. Without annual fund support, this community treasure would steadily deteriorate.

Annual fund gifts also allow us to strengthen both the museum and the community we serve. They support programs such as concerts and arts events, outreach initiatives like veterans’ fairs, new and improved exhibits, preservation of our collection, and educational tours for schools and groups. These are the experiences that bring history to life.

Because no goods or services are exchanged, annual fund contributions are fully tax-deductible.
