Art on the Porch
The Fifth Maine Museum Art on the Porch event is Sunday, August 10th, from 10am - 3pm.
This fundraiser for the Fifth Maine Museum features over 30 island artists with pop-up stores on the beautiful porch of the Fifth Maine, overlooking our seaside garden and Whitehead Passage. They'll be selling a wide variety of unique, handmade items -- jewelry, paintings, art glass, pottery, photographs, pillows, note cards, baskets, ceramic tiles, driftwood trees, botanical soaps and shampoos, candles just to name a few. So many things to choose from!!
While you are at the Fifth Maine, grab some lunch from our grill, enter our 50/50 raffle, and pick up some Fifth Maine merchandise!! It's a great way to support the Fifth Maine Museum directly.

Fifth Maine Museum - Annual Membership Meeting
Please join us for our Annual Membership Meeting. A light supper will be served on the porch starting at 5:30pm, followed by a “State of the Fifth Maine” update from the board.
Then at 7pm, we will move into the Memorial Hall for a presentation open to all. Penobscot historian, James Francis, will deliver a talk entitled “A Penobscot Sense of Place.” Mr. Francis is Penobscot Nation’s Director of Cultural and Historic Preservation and Tribal Historian. He studies the relationship between Maine Native Americans and the landscape. He's an accomplished historical researcher, photographer, filmmaker, and graphic artist, and co-produced a film on race relations as it pertains to Native American people in Maine and the Canadian Maritimes. Mr. Francis has served on numerous advisory boards for cultural institutions around New England.
New members are always welcome! You can join in person anytime the museum is open, on the night of our membership meeting, or via this link.

Veterans Benefits Fair
Join us for our second annual Veterans Benefits Fair!
Calling all veterans, their families and caregivers!
Drop in from 11am-3pm for information and individualized assistance to access the benefits that veterans have earned. Free lunch served at noon.
Subject matter experts from the Veterans Health Administration, the Veterans Benefits Administration, and the Bureau of Maine Veteran Services will be on site to answer questions about:

• compensation
• post-9/11 benefits

Fifth Maine Museum ART WALK
Explore the nooks and crannies of Peaks Island by visiting its artists who will be selling from their home studios.
A wide variety of mediums include sculpture, painting, fiber arts, stained glass, lithographs, photography, prints, and greeting cards.
ART WALK maps will be available online or from the museum starting on Thursday, July 3rd.
